About this tour
Leave the coast behind for the French Riviera’s hinterland, where Provence begins. This 4 hr 30 min private tour takes you along the road through the Gorges du Loup and their waterfalls, up to the hilltop village of Gourdon, on to Tourrettes-sur-Loup and then to Grasse, the world capital of perfume.
Clinging to a rocky spur above the gorges, Gourdon has a rich prehistoric and medieval past and one of the most spectacular views in the region, stretching all the way to the sea on a clear day. Tourrettes-sur-Loup is one of the string of “perched villages” overlooking the plain between the Pre-Alps and the Esterel massif: cobbled lanes, artisans’ workshops and stone houses make it one of the most charming villages in Provence.
In Grasse, the air is scented with mimosa, lavender, rose, violet, jasmine and orange blossom. Enjoy a guided tour of the Fragonard perfumery to discover the secrets of perfume-making, then stroll through the old town and its little squares.
